Choose Instagram, Fit, or Stretch beside the native crop controls while preparing a Post. The Chrome and Firefox release is currently in compatibility testing.

Image controls where you already crop
The extension is designed to feel like part of Instagram’s Post composer instead of opening a separate resize workflow.
Instagram keeps the ratio
Select the Post ratio in Instagram as usual. Fit and Stretch follow that selected frame rather than adding another format picker.
Processed on your device
Resizing, background rendering, and file replacement happen locally in your browser. Resize Image For does not receive your image pixels.
One choice for a carousel
A single mode applies to supported images selected together for a carousel, while video files stay unchanged and in order.
Three direct choices
Use the image as Instagram expects
There is no extra format or quality menu. The extension follows the selected Instagram Post ratio, keeps the supported file type, and requests maximum-quality local JPEG re-encoding when pixels must change.
Return to the native upload
Use the original selected files and Instagram’s own crop behavior.
Keep the whole image visible
Center the complete image with a white, custom-color, or blurred background.
Match the selected frame
Stretch the image directly to Instagram’s selected Post ratio.
Initial release scope
Post first, with a narrow compatibility target
The first release deliberately limits the surface area so the upload experience can be tested without pretending every Instagram flow behaves the same.
- 1Single-image Posts and carousels chosen together in the initial file picker are the testing target.
- 2Supported images are transformed together. Videos remain unchanged and keep their place in a mixed carousel.
- 3JPEG and static PNG images keep their corresponding file type; JPEG pixels are locally re-encoded at the browser encoder’s maximum requested quality. If any selected image is unsupported or animated, the carousel returns to the original files instead of applying a partial result.
- 4Stories, Reels, Profile uploads, and images appended after the initial picker are not part of this first release.
Local by design
No extension analytics and no image service
The extension stores only whether it is enabled and your Fit background preference. It does not upload images to Resize Image For, create an account profile, or send extension analytics.
